September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month!
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and its meaning is profoundly personal for us. When Max was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of 2, our world was suddenly thrust into a journey we never expected, filled with fear, pain, and uncertainty. Before Max’s diagnosis, I had no idea how deeply childhood cancer affects families — but it’s now clear how crucial it is to raise awareness about this cause.
Childhood cancer doesn’t just impact the child; it reshapes the lives of entire families forever. A diagnosis brings everything to a halt as parents are thrown into a world of hospital stays, difficult decisions, and emotional upheaval. Siblings often feel the ripple effects too, facing their own emotional challenges while routines and stability disappear. Financial strain quickly becomes overwhelming, with many parents reducing work hours to care for their child. The journey is long, exhausting, and filled with uncertainty—not just during treatment, but long after it ends.
Throughout September, we will be sharing more about this journey, the realities of childhood cancer, and the incredible strength of these remarkable little ones. Our hope is to educate, advocate, and inspire action. This month (and beyond), there are several ways you can provide support, including:
Donate to our Pack the Joy fundraiser to bring moments of joy to children and their families.
Host a Toy Drive to collect toys and comfort items for kids during cancer treatment.
Volunteer with us on September 20 for our impactful Halloween Volunteer Day.
Your support helps provide the emotional, financial, and practical assistance families so desperately need—offering not just relief, but hope, at a time when they need it most.
Together, we can ensure that no child or family has to face this battle alone. Thank you for joining us in bringing awareness to this critical cause.
Until the next one!
Sending so much love and prayer.
