Donor-Advised Funds

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a simple way to support causes you care about using charitable dollars you’ve already set aside.

What’s a Donor-Advised Fund

Maxwell’s Toy Box is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We gratefully accept gifts from donor-advised funds.

Donor-Advised Programs

  • Toys for Joy is the heart of Maxwell’s Toy Box and our flagship DAF program.

Through this program, we provide year-round toy restocks to our partner children’s hospitals, filling a critical gap when hospital toy supplies run low or run out entirely. This ensures nurses and child life teams always have toys available for children undergoing cancer treatment. These toys are intentionally chosen to support children during long clinic days, inpatient stays, and difficult moments throughout treatment.

    DAF Giving Levels:

    • $10,000 Annual Toy Restock Support: Supports ongoing toy restocks throughout the year, helping hospitals maintain consistent inventory during busy treatment periods.

    • $25,000 Sustained Year-Round Coverage: Allows Maxwell’s Toy Box to expand toy support across additional hospital locations and increase the frequency of restocks, helping reach more children throughout the year.

    • $50,000 Flagship Year-Round Partnership: Anchors a full year of Toys for Joy support, enabling proactive purchasing and expanded reach to support more hospitals and serve more children year-round.

This option is ideal for donors who want to make a steady, repeatable impact through their donor-advised fund.

  • Families navigating childhood cancer often face financial strain from frequent hospital visits, missed work, and rising household costs, and an additional DAF giving option.

Our Family Support Program provides direct support through gas and grocery gift cards, as well as toys for children in treatment and their siblings. Families are referred through hospital social workers to ensure support reaches those with the greatest need.

    DAF Giving Levels:

    • $10,000 Support for Families in Treatment: Helps provide gas, groceries, and toys to families navigating frequent appointments and long treatment schedules.

    • $25,000 Expanded Family Relief: Supports a greater number of families experiencing transportation and food insecurity during treatment.

    • $50,000 Year-Long Family Support Commitment: Sustains family support throughout the year, ensuring help is available when financial pressure is highest.
