This GivingTuesday: Deliver Joy to Children in Cancer Treatment

This GivingTuesday, December 2, you can create real moments of hope for children fighting the hardest battle of their lives. Our goal is to raise $25,000, which will allow us to bring comfort and joy to more than 5,000 children across four of our partner hospitals.

My son Max is the reason this mission exists. He was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at just two years old — a moment that shattered our world and threw us into a reality no family is prepared for. During those long days in the hospital, we discovered how something as small as a toy can transform fear into courage, isolation into connection, and pain into a few precious minutes of childhood.

Every toy we deliver carries that same spark of hope we once needed so badly.

While our focus is children in hematology and oncology, hospitals often share our toys with many units. A toy you help fund might reach a child in the infusion clinic, on the inpatient floor, in the ER, or anywhere a child needs comfort in a moment of fear or uncertainty.

We choose each toy with intention, based on what kids truly need during cancer treatment at the hospital:

  • Imaginative play that brings back a sense of normalcy during long inpatient stays.

  • Sensory tools that comfort children during clinic visits and tough treatment days.

  • Arts and crafts that brighten long waiting periods between procedures.

  • Small distraction toys nurses can hand out during painful or frightening moments.

With your support, we can continue to show up for children and their families all year long:

  • Deliver toys throughout the holiday season for kids spending their holidays in a hospital room.

  • Restock all four partner hospitals in the Chicagoland area so every child in treatment receives something that makes their day a little brighter.

  • Be there month after month for families walking through a journey that doesn't pause — because cancer doesn’t stop, and neither do we.

And today only, your gift goes even further. Maxwell’s Toy Box will receive a $200 match — meaning your generosity can create twice as many moments of comfort and joy.

Children are counting on us, and with your help, we won’t let them down.

Thank you for bringing hope this GivingTuesday (and beyond)!
